About Austin Gonzalez, (she/her) LMSW, CST

Certified Sex Therapist (CST), LGBTQIA+ allied, and neurodivergent affirming therapist based in Grand Rapids, Michigan

As a therapist, I believe that you are the expert, and my role is to help you feel heard, supported, and empowered.

You know your emotions, thoughts, and experiences best. Through a mix of supportive feedback and problem solving, I can work with you to utilize this wisdom, learn new tools, and take tangible steps toward healing.

My practice is centered on providing accessible and affirming therapy. This is a space where you can explore your sexuality and identity without shame or judgment.

I accept insurance and offer sliding fees to make therapy more affordable.

I’m neurodivergent and am learning how to better support myself and my clients who are neurodivergent, too.

I specialize in working with the LGBTQIA+ community and am non-monogamy (ENM) and kink affirming.

I’m licensed in Michigan, Illinois, Arkansas, and Texas, and I’m certified in both Affirming Therapy and Sex Therapy.

I graduated with my master’s in Social Work from Grand Valley State University in 2011 and have been practicing since. I completed my post-graduate certificate in Affirmative Therapy from Widener University in 2021 and the Sexual Health Certificate Program at University of Michigan in 2024.

Maybe most importantly… I’m a dog mom to Barbara!

When I’m not working, you’ll find me spending time with my partner and our rescue dog, Barb. I also watch Schitt’s Creek on repeat, love live music, and enjoy spending my time with close friends and family.
